The Different Types of Cancer

Everyone is aware that each cancer differs from the others even if it is from the same type, which makes the disease so hard to cure. It is important to note that this is not a single disease but rather a mixture of over two hundred different types of diseases. There are a few ways in which they are categorized, and this article by a Mexico cancer clinic is meant to inform you on the matter so you could better understand the topic.

The Classification

First of all, the cancer types could be separated into two groups:

  • By the organ in which they first developed
  • By the type of tissue or cell in which they originated

In terms of state the cancer types could be split into those that are in a solid state or those that are blood related. Cancers which quickly spread into a different organ is called metastasizes and they are different than the primary cancer.

Cancer Types Based on the Cell or Tissue

The cancer types are usually named after the type of cell in which they originate. It is essential that a person understands each type of cell as well to gain full knowledge on the cancer types. A good example on the topic would be a diagnosis with kidney cancer. What most people don’t know is that there are a few different types of kidney cancer though which differ from each other. Major cancer types based on the cell or tissue are:

  • Leukemia

Cancer of the blood cells. Your body produces a lot of new blood cells each new day, the moment it starts producing malicious ones though, they are begin clothing your blood vessels and your body does not have enough cells to fight off infections. That is what causes the main issues to your body.

  • Sarcomas

The bone cancer which also affects the soft tissue around it. It could happen in any part of your body including joint tissues and fatty tissues. Examples of the disease are Liposarcoma, Osteosarcoma and others.

Cancer Types in Organs

Cancers could also develop in a particular body organ, instead of being spread all around the body. Common types would be:

  • Breast Cancer

Most cases appear in women, but men are not totally safe from it either. It is reported that only 1% of the affected people are men though. Unfortunately, the most common way to remove the cancer is through an invasive surgery, which often cuts of the breast of a woman.

  • Head Cancer

It could also affect the neck as well as the head. They are often observed in people who drink or smoke heavily. In recent years the most common cause of the diseases is the human papillomavirus (HPV) due to which more than ten thousand people developed head or neck cancer.  The most often one is the Oral cancer, which develops in the mouth, the throat or the tongue.

There are many other types of cancer in addition to those aforementioned, and often they have the same symptoms and are quite similar to each other. The good news is that the percent of people fighting off cancer is greatly increasing with each New Year.
